The attached agreement will allow the option for those incarcerated related to municipal offenses to participate in the County's Work Release Program.  Doing so is beneficial to the City as it reduces the expense the City incurs for those incarcerated and is beneficial to the participants as it reduces disruption to their work schedule potentially avoiding lost wages.  The program also provides transportation to work for those defendants that are not able to legally drive, thereby reducing illegal drivers on the road.  The program also accepts defendants who are unemployed and will help them gain employment with the assistance of several full time staff members dedicated to that specific purpose.

The City Attorney has reviewed and approves the agreement as to form.
